We are currently hiring an experienced Buyer for our clients based in Edmonton. You will be responsible for evaluating the organization’s supply chain opportunities. This will include collecting market intelligence, forecasting, sourcing, analyzing, negotiating, cost & inventory reporting, administering terms & conditions and contract management while maintaining compliance with policies.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and report market intelligence
- Develop new sources of supply
- In conjunction with the company’s stakeholders, review supply and process opportunities and prepare procurement plans in support of operational initiatives.
- Review specifications, descriptions, and work scopes; recommend improvements and opportunities for efficiency
- Review submissions for compliance, prepare bid summary and evaluation spreadsheets
- Obtain quotes, negotiate with vendors, source items, and create and expedite orders.
- Manage open PO Reports and PO close-out process
- Receive and review requirement requisitions
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Procurement role with strong background in sourcing and negotiation
- SCMP designation or bachelor’s degree is an asset
- Manufacturing facility experience would be considered an asset
- Skilled in transacting data in ERP system – Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience considered an asset
- Highly experienced in Microsoft Office programs and able to utilize them effectively
- Attention to detail, independent problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively
- Logical, highly organized, focused and able to multi-task effectively
This is a full-time permanent onsite role with a strong compensation package, including salary, company pension plan for up to 3%, up to 4 weeks vacation and benefits plan.
